The recruitment process for the SSC GD Constable in 2025 has been an extensive journey, marked by several key milestones and dates of interest for aspiring candidates. The application window for the Constable (GD) position, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), concluded on December 31, 2023, following which thousands of candidates from across the country applied for one of the most sought-after posts in India’s security forces. With a staggering 53,690 vacancies announced for General Duty Constable posts in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, the competition was fierce this year.
The computer-based written examination took place over multiple days, from February 4 to February 25, 2025. The admit cards for these exams were made available starting from January 31, 2025, allowing candidates to download their hall tickets using their registration details and confirming their exam city, date, and shift. The examination, offered in several regional languages and English/Hindi, was conducted in four shifts each day, accommodating the sheer number of applicants across numerous exam centers nationwide.
Following the completion of the examination, the SSC released a provisional answer key, inviting objections and feedback from candidates. After due consideration, the final answer key was officially published on June 26, 2025, on the SSC portal. This answer key provided clarity by displaying the correct responses to every question, ensuring transparency and fairness in evaluation. Subsequently, the SSC GD Exam results, along with category-wise and state-wise cutoff marks, were declared on June 17, 2025. Candidates can check their results and download the merit list from the official SSC website by logging in with their credentials.
Shortlisted candidates are now called for the next stage: the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), for which the Physical Admit Card was released on August 9, 2025, by CRPF. It is crucial for all qualified candidates to regularly visit the official SSC portal for updates and ensure timely download of all required documents for the upcoming physical tests, which are scheduled to take place from August 20 to September 11, 2025. This marks an exciting phase in the SSC GD recruitment, bringing candidates one step closer to a career in India’s esteemed forces.
