Scheme of the Examination for RRB Junior Engineer (JE)
The Examination will be conducted in Three Phase
Phase – I Computer-Based Examination (CBT)
Phase – II 2nd stage CBT
Phase – III Document Verification/Medical Examination

Negative marks shall be awarded for every wrong answer and 1/3 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer.
The standard of the examination will be 10th/Matric level.
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility categories Wise are UR  40%, OBC 30%, SC 30%, ST  25%.



Syllabus For Junior Engineer (JE) 1st stage (CBT) Examination
Mathematics
Number systems, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest,  LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern, Time and Work,  Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, Age Calculations.
 General Intelligence and Reasoning
Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning,  Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Jum-bling, Venn Diagram, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, Conclusions and Decision Making, Classification, Directions etc.
General Knowledge & Awareness
 Knowledge of Current affairs, General scientific and technological developments, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports etc.
General Science
Life Sciences, Physics and Chemistry   (up to 10th Standard CBSE syllabus).
Eligibility Criteria
  • For Junior Engineer: Three years Diploma in relevant streams of Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute or Four years Bachelor’s Degree in relevant streams of Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
  • For Junior Engineer (IT): PGDCA / B.Sc (Computer Science) / BCA / DOEACC “A” level course of three years duration or equivalent from recognized University /Institution.
