Scheme of the Examination for RRB ALP & Technicians
The Examination will be conducted in Four Phase
Phase – I First stage Computer Based Examination (CBT) (objective type with multiple choices)
Phase – II Second stage Computer Based Examination (CBT) (objective type with multiple choices)
Phase – III Computer-Based Aptitude Test (Only for candidates who have opted for ALP)
Phase – IV
Document Verification (DV)

 

 

RRB ALP & Technicians First Stage CBT Exam Pattern

Mathematics 75 Questions 60 Minutes (Total)
General Intelligence and reasoning
General Science
General Awareness on current affairs
Negative marks shall be awarded for every wrong answer. 1/3 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer.
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
The standard of examination will be 10th standard level.



 

RRB ALP & Technicians Second Stage CBT Exam Pattern

Part – A Mathematics 75 Questions 60 Minutes (Total)
General Intelligence and reasoning
Basic Science and Engineering
General Awareness on current affairs
Part – B Trade Subjects 75 Questions 60 Minutes
Total 175 Questions 2 Hours and 30 Minutes (for Part A and Part B)
Part – B is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of
Employment & Training (DGET).
Part – A Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
In Computer Based Aptitude Test candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks.

 

 

 

Syllabus For ALP & Technicians First & Second stage CBT Examination
Mathematics
LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions,  Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations etc.
General Awareness
Questions Will Likely be aimed at Examining the candidate’s Overall awareness of the environment around him and Its Own Program to society; to examine comprehension of current events and these issues of routine observations and adventures as might be expected of any educated individual. The evaluation may also include questions pertaining to Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports,
General Science etc..
General Intelligence and reasoning
 Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Relationships, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making,  Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Similarities and Differences, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions etc.
General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10 standard level.
Basic Science and Engineering
The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Symbolic Representation, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Projections, Views, Geometric figures,), Mass Weight and Density, Units, Measurements, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Work Power and Energy, Basic ElectricityEnvironment Education, IT Literacy etc.
General Awareness on current affairs
Sports, Culture, Current affairs in Science & Technology, Economics, Personalities,  Politics and any other subjects of importance.
Eligibility Criteria
Degree OR Diploma in Relevant Engineering Discipline OR HSC(10+2) with Physics and Maths OR 10th Class Passed with ITI in relevant Trades.
